Mike Passfield, Head of Clinical Service at Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) has been appointed Chair of Clinical Standards Committee for the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH). Mr Passfield takes the helm of the Clinical Standards Committee as the first nurse in FSRH’s history to be appointed to the role, replacing Dr Helen Munro, who has moved to a new role as Vice President for Membership for the FSRH.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Passfield said: "I’m honoured to have been approached and I’m excited at the prospect of taking on the scale of this opportunity, working with the talented members of the Clinical Standards Committee. I am passionate about ensuring the delivery of exceptional care for patients and having the opportunity to influence and develop professional guidance and standards for our members working across the sexual and reproductive health specialty help form the foundations of that exceptional care."
As an existing member of the committee, Mike brings a decade of policy writing and management experience to the new role, along with his experience of leading the regional sexual health service across the East of England known as ‘iCaSH’ which has recently been rated as outstanding in a recent CQC inspection. He has also been awarded the honour of ‘Queen’s Nurse’ in recognition for his commitment to community leadership, education and improving standards of care .
